R.O. Giles founded Giles Industries in 1959, based out of New Tazewell, Tennessee. In 2006, after 47 years of business, Southern Energy Homes recognized the excellence of our products and purchased Giles. Just a few short months later, Clayton Homes, a Berkshire Hathaway Inc. subsidiary, purchased Southern Energy Homes, giving us greater access to resources and expanding our market. Over the years, one thing hasn’t changed: the high quality of our products. Today, with more than 50 years in the business, R.O.’s grandson, Alan Neely, continues to carry on his family’s legacy, traditions, and values.
Since 1959, we’ve built over 86,000 quality homes. In 2013, Clayton Homes selected us to show our myPad at the Berkshire-Hathaway Shareholders Meeting to over 35,000 people in attendance—including CEO Warren Buffet and Microsoft Co-Founder Bill Gates. Today, General Manager David Debusk, a seasoned veteran in the manufactured housing industry, is leading the way for Giles and our dedicated team.
It’s simple, really. Our goal has been and always will be to build the most affordable, highest quality manufactured homes in the market. But to top it all off, we’re serious about our client relationships—creating new ones and strengthening current ones. With a growing foundation, we want to remain connected to our customers, exceeding industry standards for service and reliability even after the sale takes place.
